There’s an anger in the vocals that hasn’t been heard from Hayley before, and it’s not just coating the entire song; it comes in at the right points, which tells me she’s writing songs with more emotion now. Brand New Eyes probably won’t be getting Paramore any new fans that hated them before this album, but it’s a step in the right direction for the band.
On September 29th, Jimmy Eat World announced on Twitter that they would be working with Mark Trombino once again for their next batch of songs. In addition to this announcement, Jim Adkins played one of the new songs on September 17th, at the Modified Art Center in Arizona.
On one of my occasional trips to my local record store, I picked up a CD from the extreme discount section titled Crash And Burn. The cover had red letters and the picture was of someone in an alleyway, drawn in a classic comic style. I thought to myself, “This has early 90s punk rock written all over it.” and sure enough, when I got home and listened to it for the first time, there was good ol’ fashion punk rock blasting out of my speakers.
