THE ULTIMATE ARCHIVE DEBATE

Here you can discuss another one of those wonderful devices you can plug headphones into, the computer! Other electronic devices without audio ports are fine, too.

First off, I don't believe in format ownership. Whoever makes the RAR format converter needs to back off that "pay for this" crap. Especially since it's only like... 2% smaller than Zip, if that.

I really just use them to make sure the set of music can be downloaded all in one pack. More people have access to Zip, so I guess I'll go with that.

It really depends.
If I want to pirate something, or free up some space on my computer without deleting files I might one day use, I'd have to say Rars. If I just want to download or upload multiple files at the same time, I'd have to say Zip.

I don't care. Whatever I'm looking for on mediafire/rapidshare will be in a format I can extract files from.

Speaking of this sort of file thing, the other day I was searching Mediafire and I came across some new format. I think it was something along the lines of .i7a or .a7i, but I can't be certain. Anyone familiar with this file?
(No, I didn't download it.)

.rar because of it's significantly smaller size than .zip.

Although I like .7z all around the most. For the most part .7z beats .rar but sometimes .rar will beat .7z.
