I installed Vista Ultimate

Here you can discuss another one of those wonderful devices you can plug headphones into, the computer! Other electronic devices without audio ports are fine, too.

I installed Vista Ultimate

it's a pretty cool guy, eh looks cool and doesn't afraid of anything

I have no idea why people go batshit saying "WELL, IT ALWAYS ASKS YOU IF YOU WANT TO RUN THIS PROGRAM OR NOT". It's just one simple click; Yes or No. And everything is compatible (so far), only a driver for my outdated webcam and the old XP-standard "Windows Messenger" didn't come through the installation, but that's all.

I still need to install DirectX for the Aero theme, and some Vista-based drivers ATI Raedon, Realtek HD audio, and Gigabit LAN.

But my question is, why do people complain about this OS so much? Jesus.

I have 64-bit Vista and I haven't had any problems that Mac users tend to say it has. I had one problem with Vegas and some audio thing, but after a while, that solved itself.

I haven't heard about this version, but I don't like the name. Doesn't mean I won't use it sometime in the future, but it's basically putting "the best" in the name.

It's just fine. I've used XP in the past and this is essentially the same thing.

It's not even marginally slower. Just prettied up.

I thought Vista was pretty cool and didn't afraid nothing. It was fashionable to not like Vista for a while and to say you had problems with it.

By the way Steve, why do you have 64-bit Vista? Your computer probably doesn't have a 64-bit processor.

:/

Never use that analogy again.

Also, I think people hate Vista because it's not anything they're used to. Like all operating systems, it has it's flaws.

For one thing, I actually have the nicest computer in the house. Too bad it'll also land me into trouble at a few times.

I just dislike Vista because it ate up my RAM and made it hard to play games that required a good amount of RAM. It's that simple.

I'm probably going to upgrade to 4 GB RAM soon anyway though, so I guess it wasn't really a problem. I just feel more comfortable with XP Pro.

I think most of the people that say Vista sucks are people that in general are computer illiterate.

4GBs of RAM is becoming the minimum to run anything properly. Hell, my motherboard is future proofed, it supports up to 16GBs of RAM.

Vista is pretty cool and I'm not scared of it much if something goes wrong unlike XP
