First recording of my band - Stick Stickly Cover (Demo)

Postby Elekari » Wed Jun 08, 2011 2:20 am

We decided to record a cover of Stick Stickly by Attack Attack (Crabcore, haha)

Stick Stickly! (Attack Attack! Cover) [DEMO] by TrialByExistence on SoundCloud - Create, record and share your sounds for free

I know we screwed up a few times and there's a tad too much reverb for the clean vocals, but we had a lot of fun and really happy with how it came out recording it in my garage

This is the lineup if anyone's interested

Allyssa Morris - Clean Vocals
Cody Harvey - Screamed Vocals
Tanner Bransom - Guitars (MEEEEEE)
Carter Bransom - Drums/Percussion

We're working on a final mix at the moment

Who does the dancing when you play it live?

Kidding aside, this was interestingly well-produced compared to previous stuff I've heard (mostly it seems to have a thicker sound, like there's more there than the other bands). Looking forward to hearing more tunes!

...There are five people in that band picture (in the video), but only four people credited in the post. Did you forget someone, or was that just one song someone wasn't required for?

The rhythm guitarist (Salvador) couldn't show up for recording so we decided to do the demo without him, no big. We're adding in bass, re-recorded vocals, louder drums, and synth later this month.

Did you get connected with a studio or something? That time frame makes it sound like you did, at least.

i've seen this video before. did you post this on any other forum or board?
i'd like to hear your originals, if you have any. why did you start with a cover?
not that i have anything against covers (i do a fuckton of them), but as
an introductory release i don't think it's a very good idea because off the
bat you're going to be compared to the original. a lot.
